Welcome to bada developer's challenge Romania!

Samsung Romania is launching a high profile competition to offer 34.000 euro as a prize for the most innovative app which will have commercial value to developer & Samsung.

We are committed to supporting developers who create apps for the bada platform, and will continue to provide the right tools for them to do so.

Samsung's growing portfolio of Wave handsets will bring bada apps to the masses through premium, innovative devices.

The competition will be formally announced on the bada Developer Day in Bucharest on November 15. All the developers will be invited to create initial concept for app which will encompass the following criteria:

  • level of innovation of the Application
  • suitability of the Application for the bada platform
  • commercial feasibility of the Application and relevant to the romanian market.

The competition will close on the 22 April 2012. Samsung Romania will notify the winners of the Prizes on 23 April 2012 using the e-mail address provided at the time of registration.

How to participate:

Download the SDK after registration. If you do not have anaccount registered then create your own account at developer.bada.com »
Login to the site developer.bada.com »
  • Generate a new application profile by clicking the "Generate a New Application Profile"
  • In the "Set your application name" fill in the application name
  • Set the version of the application [for example: 1.0.0]
  • Select a set of privileges for an application kit
  • Configure the application examines the elements
  • Select the system requirements
  • Download the manifest.xml and copy it to your project folder.
  • Generate a new application profile by clicking the "Generate a New Application Profile"
  • Build the UI
  • Run the application for testing Simulator
  • Build a package (Target release) to register the application
  • Generate a Zip file from Project -> Make Package
  • Select the files and folders to be included in the package
  • Type the new name of the package and select the output folder
  • Check the package created in the destination folder

When your application is done, the next step is to publish on Samsung Apps.

Register your application Publication of applications on Samsung Apps registration process requires passage Sellers Office applications. The registration process only consists of 4 stages: Basic Information> Display Information> Final Review> Complete Basic Information: Complete the following parts:

  • Part of Device:
    • Select OS: select studies
    • Resolution (s): Select the resolution of devices for which you have prepared applications: eg 480x800px
    • Search Results: Select the appropriate device Wave (WVGA)
    • Content Type: Select the Native Application

  • Part Category: complete fit for your application
    • Category: Choose a category for your application
    • Age Restriction: select age, which is suitable for application
    • Runs Offline: Check whether your application requires a internet connection

  • Binary part:
    • Select "Browse" and select the application file that you want to put in the Samsung Apps
    • In the case of research applications, no need to introduce versions of the application, the information is automatically downloaded from the file manifest.xml

  • Part of Sales:
    • Free / Paid: Select method of application distribution
    • Select the countries in which the application is to be sold. Select "Check All" if you want your application to be available to the whole world or "Countries WHERE application can be sold" if you want to restrict the sale of applications to specific countries.

Select "Next" to proceed to the next page Display Information

Part of the Display is information that you want customers to see:

  • Application Title: Type the application name and then select "Check" to check whether the name is not already taken
  • Description: Type a description of the application
  • Tags: tags to complete your application in order to be easier found in Samsung Apps
  • Supported Languages: select languages supported by applications
  • Additional Languages: Choose a language if you want to add a description of the application in a given language

  • Icon Image: upload your application's icon at a resolution of 135x135 in jpg or gif format

  • Screen shoots: Put your screenshots of your application. File a resolution of 480x800 in jpg or gif (screen shots on your Wave gets by holding? Center key [home] button and then running the phone side)

  • Copyright Holder: Information from the copyright owner will be displayed as the name of Seller in the store.
  • Support E-mail: insert your e-mail
  • YouTube URL: if you made a movie about your application - this is the place to put a link to it.

Competition rules

Competition badacup 1 last from 15 Nov. 2011 until 22 Apr. 2012

To participate in the contest must meet the following conditions:

  • develop an application for the Samsung platform using bada 2.0 SDK (Software Development Kit) posted on the page www.developer.bada.com  or android SDK (if you wish to compete for android special section)
  • publish an application developed by them on the platform Samsung Apps seller.samsungapps.com/login  until  April 22, 2012
  • complete and submit the contest application form via  www.badadeveloperscontest.ro (bada contest / Register your apps for contest) by fill in all requested fields until April 22, 2012;
  • agree for free access for smart phones users (bada & android) to registered  apps to this contest until results will be announced, 23/04/2012

The contest participant may submit more than one application.
